Four Funerals and One New Villain

Synopsis
Chapter 11 exists as the conclusion to Book I and a breather before Book II and focuses mainly on characters other than our four main heroes.
First, we see Mihai Costescu, his body floating in the void of space at his moment of death. We immediately flashback to the Great Thaynan War when Costescu, 15, was part of a sniper cell with Crown Prince Wernher Gauss, and he discovered The Pyramid during a botched evac procedure and learned its secret. It's retrieval led to the subsequent victory over the Chamaleen when Gamezoha deployed the K-Bomb.
Three years later, during the Republican Spasm, Costescu was made part of the KriegsKabal, a select group of officers commanding the operation at OCON-G to develop Project MAO. Recognizing The Pyramid, Costescu immediately refuses to participate and is subsequently ordered thrown out of the station's airlock by then President Joel Diablo.
Second, we see Klot, leader of the Schwarzwyrmkommandos, reporting to Joel his failure to abduct Jon Krigsley, much to Joel's displeasure. Klot, tired of this existance, and possibly under the confusion of the DAMOCLES virus, uses magic to turn himself into an undead vampire, his body changed, his mind renewed, he sets for to cause chaos.
Third, we see Moebius, sitting on his throne in the Imperial palace. Katje van Hagenkaard appears, tries to kill him and is killed herself.
Fourth, we see Krystal Halak waiting near the sea for Gauss. She is approached by Nike Gauss who says she was sent to kill her but has decided otherwise. She leaves as Gauss arrives, but is shot, once throught the heart and a second through the head, by an unknown assassin. Gauss gets emo.
Fifth, and finally, we are introduced to Kara, the unknown assassin, Krystal's killer, who was operating on Moebius' orders in exchange for information on the whereabouts of her father, Klot.
