Synopsis

Our heroes find themselves on a military battle cruiser commanded by Joel Diablo. Jon Krigsley and Wernher Gauss are placed in cells. Both Vincit Omnibus and Oscar Angeles are subjected to different forms of torture in an attempt to discern what they know about the 14MPOITU and what they planned on doing with it.

Windsong de Lanseau appears as an undercover guard to help the four escape what turns out to be a Wendauerian battle cruiser, meaning Joel now has connections with Windsong's uncle, King Adamus the Usurper. Before the five can escape, however, they are stopped by Joel and another unnamed individual...

Important Events

• The ROCKY & BULLWINKLE ANNOUNCER VOICE is a spin-off of the corny narration from the 1960s cartoon The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.
• The metal arm used to try to prevent Vinny from using the power of the 14MPOITU is a device that is nearly form-fitting in design, made from tempered titanium and other rare minerals. The metal arm will remain on Vinny's arm until Chapter 10.
• At the end of the chapter, we learn that Windsong has taken Vinny's advice from Chapter 1 to heart and is trying to recapture the Kingdom by infiltrating his military ranks. We also learn how Joel, knowing of Vinny and the 14MPOITU and his affiliation with Oscar, made an ideal candidate to serve in Adamus' military.
