An elf is a mythical creature/creature of Germanic mythology/paganism which still survives in northern European folklore. Elves are often pictured as youthful-seeming men and women of great beauty, often with pointy ears, living in forests and other natural places, underground, or in wells and springs. They have been portrayed to be long-lived or immortal and they have magical powers attributed to them.
In Fluidology, the elves are a naturally occurring race that can be found throughout the galaxy. They are known for their immortal beauty, their graceful nature and a sort of surreal aura about them that often envokes strange and strong emotions in those who behold them.
Perhaps the most notable of all the elves in the Book of Fluids is the hauntingly beautiful visage of Krystal Halak. Other elves of note include her brother Pyrite Halak and his great granduncle Mad Knife Valendil, who also happens to be a vampire.
According to historical texts, the Icelandic mythographer and historian Snorri Sturluson once referred to dwarves as "dark-elves" (dökkálfar), but whether this usage reflects wider medieval Scandinavian belief is uncertain.
Because of their traits, the elves qualify as part of the Fae grouping of races, according to Fluidology. In fact, fae is a common term used in most conversation to refer to the elves.
