Moloch

Page history last edited by Joe 1 mo ago

Not to be mistaken with the Phoenician sacrificial deity of the same name, the Moloch is a beast native of Wendauer, frequently described as being the size of a small shed, slow but deadly, with a yawning maw filled with rows and rows of razor sharp teeth and short stubby legs with two large claws on each foot. Its round body tapers down at its rear into a powerful tail it uses to knock its prey to the ground.

It is common for Wendauerian parents to threaten disobedient children with the wrath of the Moloch, claiming the beast enjoys eating the young for breakfast. This is not far from the truth.

EDIT: Actually, in retrospect, the Moloch mentioned in Chapter 12 IS a direct reference to the Phoenician sacrificial deity of the same name. Small world.
