One of Brian Eno's first ambient albums, Music for Airports employs phasing tape loops of different length in some tracks. The music was designed to be continuously looped as a sound installation, with the intent to defuse the tense, anxious atmosphere of an airport terminal.
In Fluidology, Ricardus von Sphexoren recalls a time when he was once sucked by a parachronic vortex and stayed out of time for six years. His sound system broke and Music for Airports stayed on loop the entire time. Says Whutty, "Any odher man would’ve gone mad, but my inner joy kept me warm in the shapeless, cold void."
